Artist Statement

In this set of work I have attempted to show the aftermath of a destructive event. A protest march turn riotous, vested interest and conspiracy fuels conflict, political or religious conflict lead to war. But do we realize that we always want development and at the same time we destroy it using violence-by killing people, destroying establishments, vehicles that symbolize motion, ruin lands, which are the means of so called development that we strive for.

Through media we witness the war torn part of the world constantly and the psychological impact of those powerful images prompt me to create work around those topics which have become war stories for us! Humanity has become a conflicting zone where development is being overshadowed by destruction. As a medium I used water colour on Nepali paper, acrylic on canvas, water colour on handmade paper, book art and ceramic. I needed these medium as tools to express my emotion.
